The MoU was signed by Mohamed Esmaeel Almarzooqi - Executive Director of Business Support Sector at ADCCI, who represents His Excellency Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of ADCCI, Dr. Marc Poulin, Acting President of UAE Academy; and Ahmed Aal Rabeea, Director of Sky News Arabia Academy. These courses will be held at the UAE Academy. Additionally, they will exchange information about activities and events, conduct research on best practices in artificial intelligence and digital media management, and explore innovative private initiatives that benefit society and integrate digital media into all its facets.

In parallel, Sky News Arabia Academy will host an autocue text viewer challenge, which enables guests to test their news reading performance in front of the camera.The Academy will also be providing a series of free, open-to-all workshops throughout the event. The first Sky News Arabia Academy workshop will be held on the morning of Tuesday, November 15, titled “Digital Media: Requirements for Success”; the session focuses on the telephone audience, journalistic writing in a digital world, and the use of social media as a source of news and promotion of media materials. The course will be delivered by Multimedia Journalist Nuha Omar.On Wednesday, November 16, “The Future of Journalism and the Concept of a One-Man Staff” will see digital transformation expert, Roland Berber, discuss the secrets and concept of a one-man crew – a recent phenomenon enabled by technology – and the role of technology in enabling journalists to create and produce high-quality content. The course will be delivered by Roland Barbar, Head of Digital and Social Media at Sky News Arabia.Chantal Saliba, one of the channel’s leading TV presenters will conclude the Sky News Arabia Academy series of workshops on Thursday, 17 November, with a session called “The Future of the Next Generation of TV Presenters”. During the workshop, she will reveal to aspiring young talent the secrets of succeeding as a TV presenter, including The importance of body language and direct communication, how to deal with the camera, the art of changing the tone of voice and how to control breathing, in addition to guidance on preparing newsletters and interviews.Sky News Arabia presenters will also take part in moderating various panels throughout the event. Iman Lahrash will inaugurate the Congress by moderating the ministerial discussion session, which will be attended by the Ministers of Information of India, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Bahrain, and will look at industry developments and the future of investment opportunities around the world. In addition, on the second day of the event, Carolina Nassar will lead a discussion session titled “Media for Good, and Objectives of Sustainable Development”, while presenter and media personality Chantal Saliba will moderate a panel organized by the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, about the role of Media thinktank dynamics in the digital information age.Attendees to the Global Media Congress can visit the Sky News Arabia stand located in Hall 5, as part of the International Media Investments stand, showcasing its network of media partners.

Sky News Arabia has announced its participation in the first edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC) from November 15 to 17, an event focused on the theme of ‘Shaping the Future of the Media Sector’.

In line with its commitment to delivering credible, relevant news in a timely manner across all content platforms, Sky News Arabia’s participation at GMC will underscore its media strategy which centres around excellence in newsgathering and delivery, driven by industry expertise, and supported by technological innovation.

As part of its dedication to the growth and development of industry talent, Sky News Arabia Academy will also participate in GMC through a series of free interactive workshops, covering a range of topics focused on journalism, digital content delivery, and news presentation. The academy was founded with the aim of supporting professionals in all sectors in the development of their media, communications, and content development skills, and helping them stay up to date with the latest trends in a rapidly evolving landscape. The programmes are designed both for professionals in the media industry, as well as all other professionals who want to improve their presentation skills or deepen their knowledge in the field of digital journalism and content production.

The main aim of the MoU is to train future media professionals in the fields of TV, Radio, digital, and creative media production and enhance their communication skills in Abu Dhabi and the region.The MoU was signed by Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of ADU; Dr. Sreethi Nair, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at ADU; and Nart Bouran of Sky News Arabia Academy, in the presence of top officials from both entities.In line with ADU’s commitment to providing its students and faculty members with a well-rounded academic experience, the University will promote SNAA's high-quality training and certification programmes among its students and faculty. In addition, ADU faculty members will provide advisory and consultancy services to the Academy’s students.In cooperation with SNAA, ADU will enhance its course offerings in the field of mass communication by incorporating the unique Academy Modules into the University courses to advance students' knowledge and skillset. Moreover, SNAA will provide internship opportunities and enable industry exposure to ADU College of Arts and Sciences students by inviting expert speakers to host panel discussions at the University as well as organise field trips to its facilities. The Academy has over 30 courses in four main categories: Digital Media, Technology Operations, Television Production, and Radio Production.The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at ADU provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the media and education fields. CAS offers college-requirement courses for undergraduate students in the areas of English, science, mathematics, and statistics. Additionally, the mass communication department at the College of Arts and Sciences at ADU comprises ten highly qualified faculty members specialised in film, TV, advertising, and public relations with more than six hundred undergraduate students.

The Abu Dhabi Music &amp; Arts Foundation (ADMAF) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Sky News Arabia Academy in line with its vision to empower the nation’s youth and help develop their skills. The agreement aims to provide an intensive series of training courses and workshops with industry experts to media and communication students across the UAE who are part of ADMAF’s Young Media Leaders programme. Established in 2007, the programme now in its 16th edition provides support to students to improve their storytelling and content creation skills. Commenting on the deal, Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music &amp; Arts Foundation and Artistic Director of Abu Dhabi Festival, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Sky News Arabia as part of our mission to nurture and develop the skills of tomorrow’s media leaders. The innovative agreement will connect the ambitious members of ADMAF’s Young Media Leaders programme with leading industry professionals to gain knowledge about the shape and makeup of our shifting media landscape and equip them with the tools and experience needed to thrive in its fast-paced environment. With new developments and technologies emerging on a nearly daily basis, the training courses and workshops offered by media experts will keep students informed of current trends and establish the confidence needed to pursue successful careers in the field of media and storytelling.” She continued: “Since the establishment of ADMAF’s Young Media Leaders programme in 2007 we have collaborated with renowned media training centres and partnered with our nation’s most prominent universities for over 15 years to provide opportunities for more than 300 graduates to succeed in the country’s vibrant media scene. Our partnership today with the prestigious Sky News Academy is in line with our commitment to support the creative growth of the next generation of Emirati media professionals, who will lead the way in sustaining and fostering the development of the UAE’s media industry.” Nart Bouran, CEO of Sky News Arabia and International Media Investments, commented: “The Sky News Academy is committed to shaping the future of media, and empowering talent across the region by equipping them with the right skills, know-how and competencies. We are pleased to partner with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation to support its progressive Young Media Leaders initiative, as it is in line with our aim to support in the development of media professionals and the sector as a whole.” As per the agreement, four training courses will be organised throughout January and February with the participation of two cohorts of 20 Emirati media students and graduates. The initiative kicked off on January 28 and 29 with the first workshop on content creation and social media coverage. The second workshop on journalism and TV presenting took place on February 04 and 05. The first workshop for the second cohort will launch on February 11 and 12, focusing on the content creation and social media coverage of events, followed by the journalism and TV presenting workshop on February 18 and 19. Upon the completion of the training courses, students will apply the skills they’ve learned to cover the headline programme of the special 20th edition of Abu Dhabi Festival 2023 during March, and will assist in the publication of a dedicated magazine to highlight the festival’s various musical events and performances to be issued in April.
